This is a two year programme. In Scoil Mhuire students take the three core subjects (Irish, English and Mathematics) along with four option subjects. The subjects available to students are shown in the table below.

Students select their option subjects prior to entry to the fifth year. Option blocks are drawn up based on student preferences. Scoil Mhuire students also take part in non-examinations subjects Physical Education and Career Guidance.
During the sixth year, students make decisions in relation to their future education. Most students make application to the CAO or UCAS systems.
On completion of the two-year programme, students sit an examination set by the State Examinations Commission.
