Scoil Mhuire TY Students Kayaking
Our TY students took part in Kayaking on the river in Dallow in Kanturk. This is part of their PE and Wellbeing curriculum. They thoroughly enjoyed the activity and will use their skills in Ballyhass later in the year.
Scoil Mhuire Kanturk – Sporting Update
Basketball
The u19 girls’ basketball team of Scoil Mhuire Kanturk pictured after qualifying for the county quarterfinals this week. The girls have trained very hard this year and have added new skills to their game every week.
Junior Girls Basketball Team
Congratulations to the Scoil Mhuire, Kanturk U16 girls basketball team who have reached the County Semi Final by defeating St. Brogans College, Bandon 23 to 22. The girls were down by 9 points in the final quarter and battled all the way back, going one point up in the final seconds. Well done to all the team.
GAA Coaching
Well done to the TY students who completed their foundation coaching and young whistler courses.
Under 16 Hurling
Scoil Mhuire Kanturk 3-11 Millstreet Community School 4-8
Scoil Mhuire, Kanturk progressed to the semi final of under 16 hurling in a very close affair v Millstreet Community School. An injury time point by Óisín O’Connor proved decisive in the one point win. Well done to both teams.

Play Sport and Study like a Professional
This time of the year can very stressful for many students, especially with exams fast approaching. Most weekends are now spent studying. Eighteen-year-old leaving cert student from Scoil Mhuire Máiréad Martin took a break from studies and headed to the beautiful Old Golf Course in Lahinch. The +2 handicapper completed two impressive rounds of golf, going on to claim the Scratch Trophy. Read more…

U14 Rugby Blitz
Scoil Mhuire, Kanturk played David’s College, Mallow and CBS Mitchelstown in a U14 blitz held at Kanturk Rugby Club on Tuesday 13th of March.Scoil Mhuire were first up playing Mallow coming out the wrong side of a 15-5 result. Scoil Mhuire bounced back from this to beat CBS Mitchelstown 17-15.
At this stage each team had won a game each. Our third game was up against Mallow again who once again proved too strong. Well done to all involved.
