U14 Rugby Blitz
Scoil Mhuire, Kanturk played David’s College, Mallow and CBS Mitchelstown in a U14 blitz held at Kanturk Rugby Club on Tuesday 13th of March.Scoil Mhuire were first up playing Mallow coming out the wrong side of a 15-5 result. Scoil Mhuire bounced back from this to beat CBS Mitchelstown 17-15.
At this stage each team had won a game each. Our third game was up against Mallow again who once again proved too strong. Well done to all involved.
JCPA Awarded
Students who completed their Junior Certificate in 2017 were recently presented with their Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement (JCPA). This school-based certificate indicates how students have achieved in their state examinations, classroom-based assessment and other areas of learning. Well done to the class of 2017
Muireann wins Munster Scór
The school community is very proud of the success of Leaving Cert. student Muireann Vaughan at the recent Munster Scór finals.
Muireann is an outstanding musical talent and has been involved with the school choir, trad group and a variety of musical productions, including the ‘Sound of Music’, during her years in Scoil Mhuire. Muireann was also a finalist at Junior Eurovision in 2015.
Muireann won the best solo singing section at the recent Munster Scór Sinsear finals, with her interpretation of “Fill a Rún ó”. We wish Muireann well in the All-Ireland Finals in April.

TY students completed the Foundation level GAA Coaching course and organised a first year Football internal blitz.
Handball is now being coached at lunchtimes in Scoil Mhuire. Colin Healy, Daragh Healy Fitzgerald and Jade Healy are doing this as part of their Gaisce Award.
